Disney World Scavenger Hunt On Wheels At The Magic Kingdom
5 min readMy second Disney World Scavenger Hunt On Wheels is at the Magic Kingdom. Previously, I posted one about a scavenger hunt at Disney Springs. The term “on wheels” means performing the scavenger hunt entirely from my mobility scooter. It was relaxing and a fun thing to do. At the same time, I learned more about the history of Walt Disney World in the process.
Previously, I wanted to ensure that I got my money’s worth on every trip to Walt Disney World. Therefore like most other people, I was always running around from ride to ride and attraction to attraction. Of course, it was especially true when my children were younger. I wanted the kids to have a good time and experience everything possible. However, I needed a vacation from the vacation when arriving back home.
Time To Step Back And “Smell The Roses”
As I get older, I feel it’s time to take a step back and “smell the roses.” Sure, it’s a cliche, but that’s become my mantra. Of course, it’s vacation time, but I don’t want to run myself ragged to the point of daily exhaustion. I’ve already been there and done that. I know that quite a few of you can relate to that feeling.
During my last scavenger hunt at Disney Springs, I had taken a day off from the parks. However, I searched simultaneously at the Magic Kingdom in this instance within the day. I found all of my scavenger hunt clues and got to experience all the rides and attractions I intended.
Make A Scavenger Hunt Part Of Your Theme Park Adventure
Learn to enjoy your visit differently, and make a scavenger hunt part of your theme park adventure. After all, Walt Disney World is currently celebrating its 50th Anniversary, and there are so many obscure things to discover. Thus, be mindful of your surroundings. As a result, you may add some more fun to your trip.
When planning a scavenger hunt for your own family or friends, assess your participant’s abilities. For example, if you have a young family, make the clues easier. In comparison, an older crowd could withstand harder-to-find things. Likewise, when dealing with folks like me with mobility issues, make the clues accessible within their physical capacities.
I made the list of items for the Disney Springs scavenger hunt. My son had to find and document the things. Here was his chance for retribution with him making up the clues. Our rules are pretty simple. First, don’t make the scavenger hunt items elusive and overly challenging. However, make them thought-provoking and stimulating. Lastly, they had to be accessible to me without getting on and off the mobility scooter.
Although he could have put hundreds of clues on paper, our practice was to keep it to a list of twelve scavenger hunt items. Using the clues, and as we enjoyed the Magic Kingdom, I could find these items throughout the day. He gave me the list on the Disney bus ride over to the Magic Kingdom. So I had plenty of time to look over it. Upon entering the park, I was in situational awareness mode, “knowing what’s going on around me.”

To this end, I accomplished my objective.
