Are there those days when you don’t feel like going into the theme parks? For instance, maybe you want to do something different for the day. Thus, have you ever considered engaging in a Disney World Scavenger Hunt on wheels? On our last visit, my son and I had a free day to explore during our trip. To begin with, we had nothing planned for the day. Therefore, we decided to visit and spend some time at Disney Springs.

Subsequently and unbeknownst to him, I drew up a list of 12 items that I asked him to find and photograph for a scavenger hunt. Previously I had this idea and thought it would make a great blog post.

Do You Get All The Satisfaction And Fun From Your Trip

When you visit Walt Disney World, do you get all the satisfaction and fun from being there for which you paid dearly? For example, I recently had a conversation with the owner of Gold Mobility Scooters, Vick. In brief, he told me that some of his scooter rental customers “Only ride around the parks all day without going on any rides or seeing the attractions.”

Therefore, I’m hoping to address some of the hesitations of those people through my blog postings. Once you immerse yourself in the totality of Walt Disney World, you’ll understand all that is available to you. For the most part, scavenger hunts can be fun for all people, at virtually any age and with or without physical limitations. Accordingly, mobility scooters, rollators, and wheelchairs became my inspiration for a scavenger hunt on wheels.

I always rent two mobility scooters when I visit Disney World. In short, there is one for each of us to use, my son and me. However, a couple of years ago, I only rented one for myself, and he couldn’t keep up with me. Besides, he was exhausted from the Florida heat/humidity and excessive walking at the end of each day. Hence, I figured I’d make it easier and less tiring for him on subsequent Disney trips.

What Exactly Is Walt Disney World ?

In the first place, Disney is not just a series of amusement parks. On the contrary, it’s a complete one-stop vacation destination. To clarify, Walt Disney World is a resort. By definition, a resort is a self-contained commercial establishment that tries to provide most of a vacationer’s wants, such as food, drink, lodging, sports, entertainment, and shopping, on the premises. Specifically, Disney encompasses four theme parks, two water parks, twenty-five plus hotels, and a 750-acre campground called Fort Wilderness Resort. Additionally, there are four golf courses, two miniature golf courses, plus endless other forms of sports and recreational activities.

There Is Plenty For Everyone To Do At Disney Springs

Overall view of Disney Springs

Disney Springs is Disney World’s shopping and entertainment area. Accordingly, many unique shops and restaurants satisfy everyone’s needs. Besides, there’s no admission charge to enter Disney Springs. Furthermore, self-parking is complimentary in all surface lots and garages, providing direct access to Disney Springs. Similarly, designated parking for guests with disabilities is available in all parking lots and garages. However, a valid disability parking permit is required. Above all, there is quite a bit to see and do at Disney Springs without spending one penny.

If you prefer not to drive to Disney Springs, you can use Disney transportation. Here is a link that will explain how to reach Disney Springs from Disney Resort hotels. Also, for your convenience, here’s another link to a helpful interactive map of Disney Springs.

Getting To The Subject Of This Post

So next, let’s get to the subject of this post. As mentioned previously, I came up with a list of twelve scavenger hunt items, things, attractions, and other points of interest to search. I asked him to document his discoveries by taking a photo of each. In this case, the only instructions I provided, except for the list, was to utilize his scooter the entire time. For this purpose, I wanted him to complete the scavenger hunt with limited walking. Just stick to the wheels because I wanted to determine if this scavenger hunt mode was interesting enough to write about in a post. Furthermore, I wanted it to be fun!

A List Of Twelve Scavenger Hunt Items To Find At Disney Springs

  1. Look for something that has a motor, four wheels, and floats.
  2. Locate a sign with an ampersand (&) on it.
  3. Take a picture of a “wooden boy.”
  4. Find a sign with the color of a word on it.
  5. Anything that has Disneys “Fab 5” portrayed together in one place.
  6. It’s not Waldo, the Duke, Prince, or even the King. Where is the “Earl?”

I’ve Concluded That A Scavenger Hunt Is An Entertaining Thing To Do

I’ve concluded that a scavenger hunt is an enjoyable and entertaining thing to do. In addition to the entertainment aspect, a Disney scavenger hunt can be informative. You’ll be able to learn all types of fun facts and history about the resort. What’s more, you can customize it to apply to any environment.

Be aware of your audience. Namely, who is your target audience? You can make it simplistic or complex. Above all, make it fun! Focus on a specific area. For instance, if you visit the Magic Kingdom, keep your scavenger hunt choices narrowed down to that area. Don’t put something inherent to Epcot into your Magic Kingdom scavenger hunt choices. Be creative but don’t make it too complicated or confusing.

In summary, I hope that I have given you an idea for your next Walt Disney World Resort trip. It’s not about how many rides you can go on or attractions you can see on any given day. To put it another way, relax and take in the total environment. A scavenger hunt may be just the ticket to having more fun and learning some obscure and interesting facts along the way.

Subsequently, my son made up a list of scavenger hunt items for me to find at the Magic Kingdom the next day. We continued to do the same for our entire trip. Hence, each day was a new adventure intertwined with the rides, attractions, and other facets that make Disney the magical place to visit. I will be sharing some of these other scavenger hunts in future posts that I plan to write. I genuinely hope that you enjoyed this one!
