Anyone Could Benefit From Using An ECV At The Parks
7 min readMobility scooters or ECV’s are traditionally known for helping users get around when they are disabled or incapacitated. Individuals with mobility or other health problems benefit through their use. There is a mindset that exists indicating ECV’s are only for older people or those who are unable to walk for long distances or extended periods. That’s true, but anyone could benefit by using an ECV while visiting the parks.
The Defining Word In The Abbreviation “ECV” Is Conveyance For Getting Around In The Parks
Mobility scooters are, in fact, another term for an ECV or Electronic Conveyance Vehicle. If you think about it, the conveyance is the defining word in the abbreviation, ECV. You look for the benefits of comfort and the ease of transport that an ECV provides to the user. Hence, anyone could make use of the ECV, just like people of all ages ride bicycles, E- scooters, mopeds, and other means of personal transport.
Anyone Could Benefit From Using An ECV During Your Parks Visit Or You’ll Walk An Average Of Ten To Twelve Miles Per Day
It is the beginning of August in hot and humid Florida. Now, who in their right mind would want to walk around the park all day in that oppressive heat? Trudging an average of ten to twelve miles plus coupled with the mask requirement too, well, it makes for a long, strength-sapping day. It would make sense for anyone to rent an ECV during their visit to the parks and see what benefits it provides. It’s money well spent to ensure your comfort while taking advantage of the convenience.
You can outfit an ECV with a choice of many free options adding more value to your rental. Instead of lugging a backpack, a water bottle, or other things you carry on your person, you can put it into the ECV basket. Most mobility scooters have baskets in which to hold your “stuff.” When I’m at Disney, I rent my equipment from Gold Mobility Scooter. They are super to deal with and have equipment rentals at very reasonable prices. Check them out to see what I mean! Renting an ECV is a convenience that I’m willing to pay for and is a great benefit to me when visiting the Disney parks.
Theme Parks Have Reopened With Many Elements Still in Phased Reopening Period
The theme parks have reopened, with many elements still in a phased reopening period. In specific, Disney World is not doing fireworks, nor do they have large parades. They’re more like mini parades occasionally happening during the day. Disney calls them Cavalcades, and they occur in all the parks. It’s all to encourage social distancing and minimize crowd gathering. Live production shows have not opened up yet, as well as many places to eat within the parks. Food locations that have opened up are doing so with limited menu selections.
Are You Getting Your Monies Worth By Visiting The Disney World Theme Parks Now
Potential visitors are questioning whether they will be getting their monies worth right now. The mentality exists that they are paying the same amount for half the experience. For the most part, you are probably getting as much, or even more. Consider renting an ECV to get more benefits from your park visit and experience more.
Guests are reluctant to come into the parks due to COVID-19 and the fear of contracting it at the parks. Thus crowds are small at this point. However, from what I can determine, Disney has made every effort to keep its facilities clean and safe to visit. Guest and Cast Member safety are their highest priority.
Diversions like parades, shows, and other non-ride attractions to accommodate and handle large crowds are by design. It all boils down to giving Guests something else to do without overwhelming the rides. Many choices help to spread out the whole park experience, through crowd management.
Use The ECV To Get To The Park Rides And Attractions Faster Where You’ll Find Shorter Lines And Less Wait Times
Due to low attendance, you can ride many of the more popular rides without having to wait two hours or more. Recently I’ve viewed quite a few videos of all the park reopenings at Disney World. I’ve seen instances where you can walk right up to an attraction and get on without any wait time. You could even experience your favorite ride multiple times. Now could you do that during regular Disney visits before COVID-19? I highly doubt it even with the benefits of using an ECV on your park’s tour!
At present, you’d be able to get on all your favorite rides in a one day visit with time to spare. Park hopping is not an option currently available clearly, which was clearly stated by Disney before Disney World reopened. Mainly you buy a ticket for one-day admission to a specific park.
Disney World’s Official Statement Regarding Park Hopping Prior To Reopening
Here is their official statement, “At this time, Guests will be able to select one park per day; visiting more than one park per day will be temporarily unavailable upon the reopening of the theme parks due to attendance limitations.”
By the way, Hollywood Studios is currently the best-attended park. That’s due to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge (with Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attractions) and Toy Story Land, which are big draws. Even with those popular attractions, you could get through Hollywood Studios in about a half-day, especially if you visit in the afternoon. Furthermore, I would consider Epcot as another partial day park. Quite a bit of it is still closed due to the phased reopening schedule or attractions are under renovation.
The Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom are where you’d get the most bang for your buck. There is enough to see and do at both parks to keep you going for almost the entire day. Sleep in late, and don’t worry about rope drop because you are not going to be fighting against large crowds all day. However, if you had an ECV at your disposal, you’d be able to see and do even more during your visit to the park. Using an ECV would benefit you by getting you around the parks, more quickly and efficiently. Thus if you spent less time walking, you’d have more time for the rides. It’s all about making efficient use of your time. Plus, you wouldn’t be exhausted at day’s end.
Even Donald, Mickey, And Goofy Could Benefit From Using An ECV To Get Around The Parks More Quickly And Efficiently
Many people train for their visit to Disney World well in advance. Seriously they try to walk more to build up their endurance for weeks or months before their trip. I don’t want to feel like I’m training for a marathon. I want to go to visit the parks and have fun on my vacation. Unfortunately, walking around all day is part of that visit and that’s why I choose to rent and benefit from using an ECV for my trip to Disney parks! However, you have to expect to walk around all day in the Florida summer heat and humidity plus spend hours on your feet. Consequently, you’ll pay for it by feeling exhausted, have sore feet, and possibly blisters on those tired feet.
I found an informative article entitled, “Tips To Prepare For Walking Walt Disney World” posted by Kristen Kirk on September 18, 2018, on the website wdwforgrownups.com. The article goes into detail about how much walking you’ll be doing each day. They claim an average of eight to ten miles of walking each day. However, I’ve read many recent articles that indicate an average of ten to twelve miles per day, as I’ve suggested earlier in this post.
In Conclusion, Anyone Could Benefit From Using An ECV At The Parks
In conclusion, do yourself and your body (especially your legs and feet) a favor by renting a mobility scooter (ECV) on your next visit. Anyone could benefit from using an ECV at Disney parks. You’ll be able to see and do more, especially during this period of low park attendance. I’m sure that you’ll walk away feeling that you got more than you expected from your Disney experience.
Follow The Recommendations Of The Centers For Disease Control And Prevention (CDC)
To help curtail the spread of COVID-19, Disney has set the gold standard for preparing and maintaining their parks and facilities for Guests and Cast Members. However, these are still trying times, and you have to do your part to help slow the spread of the virus. Follow the recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) about protecting yourself and others. Namely, and most importantly, wear your mask correctly, maintain social distancing, and wash your hands frequently.
